Turning Your Van Conversion into a Winter Wonderland in Time for Christmas

This year more than any other, Christmas has crept up on us and so it makes it a perfect time to go all out on the end of year festivities.

Christmas is one of the best times of the year to let your hair down and go all out on indulging yourself, as a pat on the back for getting through the year. Decorating your home from head to toe is a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. So, why not go all the way and make sure your campervan is lit up enough that Santa Claus himself will have to pay a visit?! However, you might have to leave out an extra set of milk and cookies. To help you get into the festive spirit, we’ve compiled some of the best Xmas decoration ideas for you to try in your van conversion this year.

Don’t Leave Your Conversion Home Alone

The one time a year when red and green must be seen. If your conversion is sat on your drive or you are able to take it out for a well deserved christmas get away, nothing says Christmas more than dazzling lights. So, consider dressing your van in Christmas decorations to create a consistent aesthetic. Going the extra mile and incorporating your camper to match the house will catch the eye of passer bys and you’ll become the talk of the street. If this sounds like something you’d do, there are thankfully plenty of coloured lights available. Just try to keep the lights in the same, or similar, colour scheme as your house so it doesn’t become an eyesore.

Other simple tips such as fake snow and tinsel will be noticed, which ultimately will fill the house space with Christmas cheer. For anyone seriously looking to take it to the next level, you can turn your camper into Santa’s sleigh with LED reindeers pulling your van, or alternatively a Santa’s grotto. Some other additions to the exterior can include plastic elves, Christmas trees and signage saying ‘Santa’s Camper’, which will all add whimsy and fun to your displays as well as making sure you camper isn’t forgotten about over the Christmas period!

Driving (Away From) Home for Christmas

If you’re able to take your motorhome conversion out over December, make sure you bring some Christmas spirit with you. Battery powered lights are a must to make sure you fit in with the iconic Coca-Cola trucks that are a symbol of the Christmas period. And just for that little extra touch, you might want to include some interior lights and a pop tree for the road too.

Camping is a good get away from the bright lights of built up areas, so maybe a light display is something you want to get away from. If this is the case, rustic and natural Xmas decor will help keep the Christmas spirits high even in the wilderness. Small LED lighting, wooden christmas decorations and even a handmade wreath hanging off your door will bring the festivities on your adventure with you. All with a subtlety that will complement the naturally beautiful setting you will find yourself in.

A Christmas Wish

This year has been a struggle for everyone so we all deserve extra this Christmas. So, going all out to decorate your loved home on wheels shouldn’t be off the cards. Christmas can serve as the perfect distraction from the chaos of 2020, so have a look in the boxes in the attic for extra decorations and style. Whether you are looking to create a winter wonderland in your front garden or take the festive season away with you on an inclusive retreat, Christmas is what you make it. An Xmas themed conversion can make your heart grow three sizes for anyone who has been feeling a little ‘grinchy’.

Grab some tinsel, lights and warm some marshmallows over the fire (interior heater) and have a safe and wonderful Christmas to all of our motorhome, campervan and conversion enthusiasts.
